WHAT IS THERMOCLEAR?
ThermoCLEAR is the latest state-of-the-art technology utilizing both low radio frequency and high radio frequency on epidermal skin perfections such as small spider capillaries, cherry angiomas, milia, acne, skin tags, sebaceous hyperplasia, fibromas, cholesterol deposits and sun spots/age spots.
Lasers like IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) aka PhotoFacial are used to treat some of these skin imperfections like brown spots and broken capillaries. Because they penetrate and treat both the top and lower layers of the skin and because of their depth, these laser procedures can cause temporary or even permanent damage including scarring, hyperpigmentation (brown spots) and hypopigmentation (white spots).
Also, darker skin tones are not candidates for most lasers because of the risk of burning, scaring and/or pigmentation problems. Lasers are also costly and often require a series of treatments.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THERMOCLEAR?
The advantage of using ThermoCLEAR is that it can be used on ALL skin types because it ONLY treats the top layer of the skin (epidermis), leaving the lower layers (dermis) unaffected. ThermoCLEAR is safer with less chance of scarring and/or pigmentation problems. It can be used on ethnic skin tones.
WHY USE THERMOCLEAR? WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
- No Downtime/minimal scabbing
- Treatment only on skin imperfection area applied
- Quick treatment lasting only a few seconds
- Minimal discomfort
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
This treatment is considered minimal to no downtime. However, downtime is very subjective. What you think looks bad, may not be what we think looks bad. With that said, the skin treated may be red and swollen with fine, thin scabs. The RF system can create a bruise, burn or blister to the skin. For an effective treatment, the RF energy may cause the skin to scab up.
The process can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks to heal completely. It could take as long as 1-3 months in some cases for the redness to go away. Hypo-pigmentation and Hyperpigmentation have been noted after treatment, especially with individuals with thin/frail skin and darker complexions. This usually resolves within a few weeks, but it can take as long as 1-3 months in some rare cases.
You must be off of Accutane for more than 6 months to resume treatment. Individuals using ANTICOAGULANTS, should be noted. Herpes viral infections around the mouth can occur following a RF treatment.
Celebrity Skin does not use ThermoClear on anything but benign pigmented lesions. Check with your dermatologist for clearance for the treatment, if the lesion has changed in color, size, extremely elevated or is painful to the touch.
Compliance with the aftercare guidelines is crucial for healing, prevention of scaring and hyper/hypo pigmentation.
Multiple treatments may be needed for the desired outcome.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
Avoid any trauma to the skin for up to 24 hours, such as bathing in very hot water, swimming pools, hot tubs, or strenuous exercise. Try to keep area dry. Makeup may be used 24 hours after treatment. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds. Use spf 50 on treated area to avoid hyperpigmentation. Avoid tweezing, waxing, bleaching, chemical peels and all laser treatments during course of treatment. Do not use irritants such as Retin-A, glycolic’s or loofa’s/scrubs until the areas has completely healed up.
