Many times, individuals have active acne and acne scarring at the same time that needs to be addressed. It should be noted there are some acne scar treatments that are not appropriate (microneedling, for example) if you are currently “breaking out”. These should be avoided until the acne is under control.

Mid-depth / medium depth peels for acne scarring
Celebrity Skin Medium Depth Chemical Peels, also known as mid-depth peels are a good option for acne and acne scarring. Medium-depth peels improve the texture, tone and clarity of the skin, reduce age spots, improve hyperpigmentation (including melasma), soften lines and wrinkles, help clear acneic skin conditions, reduce acne scars, and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer more youthful skin.
These peels are “stronger” and travel “deeper” into the dermis than light/superficial chemical peels. Mid-depth peels have noticeable downtime (more flakes/bigger flakes) when compared to lighter peels. The VI Peel is another Medium Depth Peel we offer at Celebrity Skincare.
How Many Chemical Peels Do I Need To Treat Acne Scars?

Microneedling for acne scars
In addition to chemical peels and microdermabrasion, microneedling has been well-documented and researched as a safe and effective treatment for scar reduction (acne scarring, stretch marks, hypertrophic and surgical scarring), fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, pore reduction, improving rough skin texture, pigment irregularities, and overall skin rejuvenation.
Microneedling creates micro-punctures in the skin stimulating wound healing and producing new collagen and elastin. Special topicals like stem cells and growth factors can be infused into the skin to help regenerate new skin and reduce/soften scarring.
